Little Squalicum Creek Water Quality Improvements Phase 1

Project Overview

The Little Squalicum Creek Water Quality Improvements Phase 1 Project will add underground stormwater treatment units along Lindbergh Avenue and Nome Street. These stormwater facilities will filter pollutants from rainwater runoff from the surrounding area, which currently enters Little Squalicum Creek mostly untreated. This project will improve water quality in Little Squalicum Creek and the new Little Squalicum Estuary constructed by the City in 2023.

More Information

This project will add underground stormwater vaults near the intersections of Eldridge and Lindbergh Avenues and of Nome and Maryland Streets. Construction impacts such as temporary road or lane closures, flaggers, and reduced street parking are expected in these areas during construction.

What is stormwater? It’s rainwater that falls to the ground and flows into waterways, picking up pollutants on the way, such as vehicle oil, chemicals, soap, bacteria from pet waste and more.

Protecting our local waters from pollution starts with how we manage our yards, vehicles, pet waste, and more. You can help by:
