Samish Pavement Repair

Project overview

In September 2024, we replaced the asphalt from Bill McDonald Parkway to Lincoln Street.

Timeline

The repaving is complete. Re-striping and re-channlization have been delayed due to weather and should be completed in Spring 2025.

Re-channelization

The intersection of Samish, Lincoln, and Elwood will be re-channelized during this work:

  • Westbound right lane on Elwood will become a Right Turn Only lane, and the center lane will be for cars going straight or turning left. Bike lane will shift in between the right turn lane and the center lane.
  • The eastbound bike lane on Samish Way will shift left for bikes to continue straight up Elwood, or turn left onto Lincoln.
  • Eastbound right lane will shift further right and remain a Right Turn Only lane.

A map of the intersection shows the planned changes.

The estimated cost of work is $250,000, paid by the Street Fund’s asphalt and pavement preservation budget.
