Blue Canyon Preserve

The Blue Canyon preserve was purchased at the end of 2021. It remained undeveloped between the 1940s and 1980s, with some subsequent logging and road building in the early 90s. Railroad tracks still extend across the property on the west side of Blue Canyon Rd. The northeast portion of the parcel also abuts WA State Trust Land property managed by DNR. The west-facing slopes of the Blue Canyon preserve are still in an early stage of succession after recovering from a high-grade selective harvest. Dominant tree species are alder, cedar, Douglas fir and maple.
