The City is seeking grant applications from non-profit organizations and other private, non-governmental entities in support of efforts to grow Bellingham’s urban forest and increase tree canopy cover citywide. The Community Tree Partnerships Grant Program funding opportunity is limited to services that meet the City’s goal of increasing the number of trees planted on private property within the City of Bellingham, or related services that meet this goal. These services may include but are not limited to: events, community education and materials distribution, collaboration with neighborhood associations, and collaboration with tree service providers.
Funds available
The funding source for these grants is City funds. The normal range for grant awards in this program is expected to be between $10,000 and $45,000 per year, depending on the types of services offered.
Timeline
Grant applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024. All grant-funded work shall be completed within a one-year period, beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2025. The City may choose to extend the period of performance based on activity schedule needs.
