Shoreline Committee of the Planning Commission

The Shoreline Committee only holds a public meeting when there is an application or proposal that the chair or Planning Director feels is likely to result in significant environmental impacts or is a matter of public interest.

The Committee makes recommendations to the Planning Director , and will meet directly prior to a regularly scheduled Commission meeting whenever possible.

At this time, the meetings are still being held virtually (via Zoom Webinars) and does not require that attendees register prior to joining the meeting.

Visit the Shoreline Committee Meeting Materials Webpage to view meeting agendas and supporting materials, which are posted approximately one week prior to the meeting date.

The Committee reviews applications related to those areas within the City that will impact the shoreline. They make recommendations to the Planning Director.

When necessary, meetings are typically held on the first or third Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Meetings last approximately 30-45 minutes. Time spent outside of meetings requires a minimum of one hour for preparation.

The Shoreline Committee is comprised of three Planning Commission members. Due to the fact that they only review proposals that are dealing with specific shoreline jurisdictions, they will typically meet prior to a Planning Commission meeting, and only when necessary.

Members will be elected at the first meeting of the year, or as soon thereafter as possible.
