The City of Bellingham owns and manages its water system for municipal water supply purposes that includes a broad range of water uses including residential, commercial, industrial and government uses. The City manages its water system through its Public Works Department. Daily maintenance and operations are executed by the Operations Division, which is comprised primarily of operators, field crew, and laboratory staff. Water system planning, design, and other non-routine management of the water system are addressed by engineering staff within the Engineering Division
