Looking for a space to grow vegetables, herbs or flowers? Bellingham Parks and Recreations offers a community garden program at four locations throughout the City:
The Community Garden Program offers 257 plots where program participants can take advantage of 200 square feet of garden space to grow their own food and flowers. Garden plots are generally 10′ x 20′ (approximately 200 square feet).
Dig In – Let’s Get Started!
Make sure you visit your Community Garden to get a feel for the garden space and layout. Start making connections by reaching out to your Community Garden Committee to ask any garden questions, they have a wealth of knowledge!
Sign up for a garden plot by submitting a community garden registration form. We begin taking registration for new gardeners every year in January on a first-come-first-served basis. Returning gardeners, who want the same plots, are given priority to register for their same plots starting in November for the following year.
Rules and Responsibilities
Our goal is to give everyone an enjoyable gardening experience and be responsible stewards of the land. In order to achieve these goals, all program participants are expected to follow the Community Garden Rules and Responsibilities.
Refunds
If you are unable to continue participating in the Community Garden program for any reason:
- Cancellations made prior to May 1 will receive a full refund minus $25 administrative fee.
- Cancellations made on or after May 1 are not eligible for a refund.
