Galbraith Mountain Events

​​With 65 miles of trails and an elevation gain of 1,785 feet Galbraith Mountain provides endless trail experiences. Runners, hikers, bikers and horse riders can weave through the mountain side to experience a diverse trail system with endless views including Mount Baker, the Twin Sisters, Bellingham Bay and the City. Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) developed the nationally recognized mountain biking trail network and is contracted with the City of Bellingham to manage recreational use on the mountain.

Reservations

This facility is available for reservations that can be made up to one year in advance.

Interested parties must also receive approval from the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) to host a special event, or series of events.

Steps for Reservation:

  1. Submit the Special Event Request Form for review.
    1. It is recommended to submit your request 60 or more days prior to the event date to ensure all required paperwork is processed.
    2. You will be charged a $75 review fee.
    3. Your form information will be sent to the WMBC for approval prior to the City of Bellingham Parks & Recreation Department’s review and processing.
  2. Upon receiving permission from both the WMBC and Parks & Recreation Department, the user must submit the $75 review fee.
    1. Any Filming on Galbraith Mountain also requires a Park Special Request Application.
  3. Users must submit required Insurance documents to the City a minimum of 30 day before the event date.
    • The City will require that you provide a Certificate of Insurance with a Certificate of Liability in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence:
      • The certificate must name the City of Bellingham as additional and must include this statement:
        • “The City of Bellingham, its officers, employees, elected officials, agents, and volunteers are additional insured. Coverage is primary and non-contributory with a waiver of subrogation.”
      • The certificate must also have separate endorsements:
        • Names the City of Bellingham as additional insured and include the above statement
        • Primary and non-contributory
        • Waiver of Subrogation
        • Automobile Insurance (if using vehicles on-site)
