Washing vehicles and equipment outside can release pollutants such as oil, grease, metals, dirt, and soap onto pavement and into the storm system. Even products labeled “biodegradable” can be toxic to aquatic organisms in local creeks. Wash vehicles and equipment at a commercial car wash where water is recycled and sent to the sanitary sewer.
